COMPOST LEAF

Like a giant, magic plant Compost Leaf is growing up from the soil floating in space. Thematically the sculpture is inspired by perishability, decay, and waste as materials to improve growth and sustainability. The sculpture portrays a system of waste visually reflecting biodegradable brown waste such as grass cuttings, dry leaves, pine needles, which in composting is recycled by decomposing the organic solid wastes into a humus-like material, known as compost that forms in soil when plant matter decays.
